So, you know when you read a book...and it is wonderful and amazing and keeps your attention and brings out all these emotions, AND - then you see the movie version of the book, and you hate it, and you are disappointed, and it kind of ruins the book just a little for you. That is kind of how I felt last night when I saw Ingrid Michaelson live in concert for the first (and probably last) time. I have always really liked her music and her thoughtful and fun and quirky lyrics...and I still do, I am just not a big fan of HER, in person. So for me, her CD will always be better than a concert (not that she didn't sound good live). Mat Kearney on the other hand, is one of those rare exceptions of when the movie is just as good (if not BETTER) than the book - and it adds to it and makes you appreciate it even more and perhaps pick up things you may not have noticed...his live performances are amazing and so much fun and definitely something you should see at some point!! So, in general, last night was wonderful - and we had a great time. I just kind of wished that Mat would have played last so as not to have left with the disappointment of Ingrid's performance - well not so much her performance...just her.
